The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has begun tightening the screws on gambling providers deemed to be in breach of Australia’s new gaming law. Earlier this month, the ACMA published a report detailing its finding after investigating more than a hundred reports of potential violations of national gambling laws.

The UK’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has announced strict new gambling advertising standards slated to take effect on 2 April, 2018. The new guidelines direct licensed gambling sites operating in the UK to avoid advertisements that could be deemed as contributing to unhealthy gambling habits and attitudes.

Local news agencies began reporting that Turkey is introducing new controls over money transfers and ATM withdrawals as part of a government effort to combat financial fraud and illegal gambling.

A Belgian court ruling has just erected the latest barrier for betting sites attempting to operate in an already restrictive market. Last week, the Belgian Constitutional Court ruled that licensing practices that allow operators to offer sports betting and casino games on a single website contradict the Belgian Constitution.
