How to Bet Online with Ukash

Getting started with online betting doesn’t have to involve a credit card or bank account. If you’d rather not use a credit card to fund your gambling account, there’s a better option in Ukash. This payment method works just like cash except you can use it online. All you have to do is purchase a voucher in-person or online and you can redeem it any of the many betting sites that take Ukash payments.

Update: Ukash is now Paysafecard

In May of 2015, Paysafecard announced that it would be absorbing all Ukash operations. Paysafecard works just like Ukash but with even wider acceptance. You can still visit nearby sales locations to pick up prepaid cards and make purchases online, but it’s all going to be done through the Paysafecard company. If you’re not familiar with Paysafecard, here’s our page with the full rundown:

How Betting Online With Ukash Works

Ukash vouchers can be purchased at over 420,000 locations in more than 50 countries around the world. Just visit the find a location page on the Ukash website and then bring cash to the nearest sales outlet. The cashier will give you a voucher with a 19 digit number in return for your cash.

Take your voucher, log in to your favorite betting site and visit the cashier. Input your 19 digit number and your account will be credited with the full value of your voucher. This is the easiest way to make a deposit if you don’t have a bank account or prefer not to give your credit card and banking information to online betting sites.

You may purchase up to five Ukash vouchers worth up to £200 each for a total of £1,000. This is the maximum amount you may hold or deposit at one time. If you need to deposit more than £1,000, you’ll need to break up your deposit across multiple days or try a different deposit method.

Ukash Online Account

It is never necessary to register an account of any type with Ukash. However, they do have an optional online account if you’d like to check voucher balances, combine vouchers and convert them to different currencies.

You may also purchase Ukash vouchers online at authorized websites. This option works well if you don’t mind paying online but still don’t want to share your card information with random betting sites. You can find a list of authorized online sellers at that same “find a location” paged linked-to above.

An online account comes with the option to get a prepaid Ukash MasterCard. This prepaid card is linked to your Ukash account and can only be used to spend funds that you have uploaded to your online account in-person or online. It offers the convenience of paying with a card but is more secure than using your private credit or debit card.

Safety and Security

Ukash is an extremely safe way to fund your betting account because you’re never required to give your name, address or banking information to anyone else. Vouchers purchased at sales outlets are treated just like cash online. You’ll never be asked to sign up for an account unless you choose to do so out of convenience.

With that said, it’s important to keep track of your vouchers. An active voucher is treated like cash online and can be used by anyone. Ukash does have the ability to replace lost vouchers if you have a receipt, but you’ll need to act fast. If someone uses it or you don’t have a receipt, you’re out luck. The best policy is to wait until you’re ready to make a deposit and then buy your voucher that same day.

Ukash was established in 2005 and has been running for over 10 years now with a flawless reputation. The company is licensed under the Financial Conduct Authority and remains in good standing in the UK. If safety is a concern when playing online, you can’t do any better than doing business with the best Ukash betting sites.
