About Sky Bet

Who Runs Sky Bet

Sky Bet's British licence changed hands in 2025. The brand belongs to Flutter Entertainment plc, which names Sky Betting & Gaming among its own brands in its 2025 annual report. The current licence holder, SBG Sports Limited, was incorporated at Companies House on 27 May 2025 — number 16474280, registered at One Chamberlain Square in Birmingham — and its earliest active licence on Gambling Commission account 67370 runs from 6 October 2025. The previous licensee, Bonne Terre Limited, surrendered its licences on account 38718 with an end date of 31 October 2025, so the two were licensed in parallel for 25 days. The Sky Bet app on the UK App Store is still published in Bonne Terre's name.

One Brand on the Licence

The new account carries four remote classes — general betting on real events, general betting on virtual events, pool betting and gambling software — and two active domains, www.skybet.com and m.skybet.com. It carries exactly one active trading name, sky bet. That is unusual among large GB accounts, several of which carry ten or more brands: this licence covers one.

What You Can Bet On

Fixed odds on real and virtual events, plus pool betting on racing. Sky Bet's own App Store listing describes two of its named products: Request a Bet, to "combine all your hunches on a match into one football bet", and BuildABet, which "lets you build your own bet as an acca when you bet on football". Both are ways of getting a price on a combination the site does not list as standard, and both are described by the operator as football products.

Verdict

Sky Bet is a fixed-odds and pool-betting book on a GB licence that is current but new: the licensee company was incorporated on 27 May 2025 and licensed from that October. Nothing on the register suggests a problem — a licence moving between companies is routine — but a reader checking the operator against the register should expect to find a company younger than the brand. The product is conventional, with its own names for custom and combination bets.
